**Summary**

Under the supervision of the Family Advocacy Center Director, the

Forensic Interviewer & MDT Coordinator conducts legally defensible

forensic interviews of children, vulnerable adults, and qualifying

victims or witnesses using trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate

practices. The position coordinates the Navajo County Multidisciplinary

Team (MDT), supports Family Advocacy Center operations, assists with

National Children\'s Alliance (NCA) standards, maintains

multidisciplinary protocols, coordinates training and peer review, and

promotes collaboration among partner agencies. The position conducts

approximately 150 forensic interviews annually and requires sound

judgment, professionalism, confidentiality, and strong interagency

collaboration.

**Forensic Interviewing & Case Coordination**

  • Conduct forensic interviews using AFIT or other approved forensic

interviewing protocols.

  • Interview children, vulnerable adults, and qualifying victims or

witnesses involved in abuse, neglect, exploitation, domestic

violence, and criminal investigations.

  • Coordinate interviews with MDT partners and conduct caregiver

pre-interviews.

  • Facilitate multidisciplinary briefings and maintain accurate case

documentation.

  • Operate forensic interview recording equipment.
  • Participate in peer review, quality assurance, and case

consultation.

  • Provide courtroom testimony and respond to after-hours forensic

interview requests as needed.

**MDT Coordination & Leadership**

  • Coordinate and facilitate the Navajo County MDT.
  • Schedule MDT meetings, case reviews, and multidisciplinary staffing.
  • Maintain MDT communication, participation, and operational

protocols.

  • Track MDT activities, outcomes, and process improvements.
  • Serve as liaison between the Family Advocacy Center and partner

agencies.

**FAC Program Administration & NCA Compliance**

  • Support compliance with National Children\'s Alliance standards.
  • Coordinate peer review, continuing education, and quality assurance

activities.

  • Maintain program statistics, reports, and grant-related

documentation.

  • Assist with development of FAC policies, procedures, and

multidisciplinary protocols.

  • Coordinate maintenance of interview rooms, equipment, and program

resources.

**Training & Professional Development**

  • Complete and maintain required forensic interview certification,

continuing education, and peer review.

  • Participate in advanced training and professional development.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to MDT partners.
  • Represent the Family Advocacy Center through outreach, committees,

and community education.

Knowledge of child development, trauma, abuse dynamics, forensic

interviewing, NCA standards, victim rights, confidentiality, criminal

justice systems, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Skills in forensic

interviewing, communication, documentation, organization, critical

thinking, public speaking, conflict resolution, and time management.

Ability to maintain neutrality, exercise sound judgment, coordinate

multidisciplinary responses, maintain confidentiality, build

professional relationships, and adapt to changing prioriti s.

**Desirable Qualifications**

**Minimum Qualifications**

  • Bachelors degree in psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Child

Development, Human Services, Education, Behavioral Sciences, or a

closely related field;**or**an equivalent combination of education

and progressively responsible experience.

  • Valid Arizona Driver License.
  • Ability to pass all required background investigations.
  • Ability to obtain AFIT or other County-approved forensic interview

certification within twelve months of hire and maintain required

continuing education.

**Preferred Qualifications**

Bachelors or masters degree in a related field.

Experience conducting forensic interviews or working in child advocacy,

victim services, child welfare, law enforcement, prosecution, or

behavioral health.

Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams or interagency programs.

Knowledge of National Children\'s Alliance standards.

Experience in a Child Advocacy Center or Family Advocacy Center.\<
