You will be joining a friendly team that runs one of the most successful booths at farmers’ markets in Providence and surrounding cities. You will be responsible for setting up attractive displays, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Duties
- Set up and organize market booth displays to highlight products effectively and attract customers
- Engage with shoppers by providing product demos and sharing detailed information about offerings
- Handle sales transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Maintain stock levels by merchandising products neatly, restocking as needed, and managing inventory efficiently
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about the quality and benefits of items sold
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales, grocery store operations, or similar customer-facing roles is preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with diverse customers in a friendly manner
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a broader community base
- Demonstrated proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math for transactions
- Knowledge of farmers market environments is advantageous
- Supervising experience is beneficial for growth to leadership roles within the team
- Excellent customer service skills to foster positive interactions
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting moderate loads
