Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify client needs.
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health emergencies effectively while ensuring client safety.
- Provide specialized counseling for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with conditions such as PTSD, addiction issues, grief, gender identity concerns, and developmental disabilities.
- Maintain detailed medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations; ensure accurate coding using CPT codes for billing purposes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management plans to support patient care continuity across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives and data collection efforts to enhance treatment outcomes and contribute to evidence-based practices.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote therapy sessions, ensuring accessibility for clients with mobility or geographical barriers.
- Support patients through behavioral management techniques and social work interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Stay current on medical terminology, ICD coding updates, and behavioral health best practices to provide high-quality care.
Experience
- Proven experience in psychotherapy or clinical counseling within hospital or outpatient settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in working with children, individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and special education populations.
- Strong background in crisis management, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care including PTSD treatment.
- Familiarity with medical documentation standards such as HIPAA compliance and ICD coding (ICD-9/10).
- Experience conducting intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations across diverse client populations.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapies including applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral management strategies, and social skills training.
- Proficiency in telehealth platforms combined with excellent communication skills for remote patient engagement.
- Additional experience in addiction counseling, grief counseling, psychopharmacology coordination, or gender issues counseling is highly valued.
