TITLE OF POSITION:
Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA)
LOCATION:
Eddy Elementary School and Stony Brook Elementary School
DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT
OF POSITION:
- Support staff in the creation of behavior intervention plans (BIPs), communication of BIPs, data collection, and analyzing data;
- Conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBAs), collect related data, and use this to support students and coach staff;
- Support and train staff in effectively carrying out FBAs and BIPs;
- Participate in the student IEP process, including annual reviews, re-evaluation meetings, and initial evaluation meetings;
- Collaborate with, train, and support teachers, support staff, and paraeducators around student FBAs and BIPs;
- Be Safety Care trained (or become safety care trained), actively utilize these strategies, and support staff by modeling and utilizing these interventions;
- Provide professional development around behavioral interventions;
- Effectively communicate with all members of a student’s IEP team, including special educators, general education teachers, service providers, administrators, support staff, and parents;
- Collaborate with staff on substantially separate programs, including the ASD classrooms and therapeutic classroom, as well as general education teachers and staff in general education settings;
- Participate in the pre-referral MTSS process as needed;
- Provide behavioral consultation to support general education students;
- Assist and support in developing PBIS structures, supports, and programming at both schools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed BCBA
- MA DESE Certification: Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities PreK–8
- Experience working in special education
- Safety Care trained (the district can provide this training if needed)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
SALARY:
Individual contract, 185 days plus 20 days extended school year program
