What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hardscape Foreman Apprentice position at Natvu?
About the role
We’re hiring a Foreman Apprentice with prior field experience who wants to step into leadership. The goal is to train the right person into run their own crew by spring of 2027.
Responsibilities
You’ll work alongside leadership and learn to:
- Plan the day, stage materials, and keep the crew productive
- Lead and coach a small crew (responsibility grows fast)
- Coordinate jobsite logistics with operations manager
- Oversee and perform installation work, including:
- Hardscape (base prep, grading, patios/walks, retaining walls, drainage, finishing and cleanup)
- Pool install support work (site prep, grade control, install sequence coordination, punch and closeout items)
- Run quality checks and prevent callbacks
- Maintain a clean, safe, professional jobsite and enforce PPE
- Communicate clearly with the PM/owner on progress, needs, and blockers
- Document progress (photos, notes, production updates)
Requirements
- Prior construction experience (hardscape, site work, utilities, concrete, grading/drainage, or similar)
- Dependable, coachable, and takes ownership
- Comfortable with measurements/layout and following a build sequence (plans a plus)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors
Preferred
- Experience leading a crew or being a foreman’s right hand
- Equipment experience (skid steer, mini ex, plate compactor), or ability to learn quickly
- OSHA-10 (or willing to obtain)
