Job Overview
The Decor Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Decor service line. Oversight includes P&L ownership, seasonal forecasting, labor efficiency, and client satisfaction. Client satisfaction is achieved via installations including beautifully designed displays and quality installations that hold up for the intended season through curating colors, plant palettes, and designs of planted arrangements.

Responsibilities And Duties
Seasonal / Annual Planning
- Identify and ensure delivery of seasonal décor within appropriate service windows based on seasonal temperatures, product availability and demand. (Late winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Winter Lighting). Establish an annual calendar for each season to outline the plan.
- Long range planning may include efforts to establish color and product pallets for upcoming seasons and establishing contract grow solutions with vendors
- Collection and understanding of metrics that will be used to accurately estimate products and services
- Work with Account Managers and clients to identify scope of work, elements (including containers), project deliverables and estimating.
- Create purchasing plan using prior knowledge of volumes and product mix
- Identify vendors and build relationships with them that leverages our purchasing power and delivers the best products (Aesthetic, and value)
- Ensure product is delivered, stored, and maintained to accommodate physical space requirements, installation timing, and plant health/aesthetic needs.
- Explore opportunities that ensure the highest quality products and secure resources (i.e., contract growing)
- Collaborate with the Account Management Team to coordinate specific service delivery dates. Communicate project dates and changes clearly and proactively to AM’s and Territory Production Manager.
- Create and communicate project schedule weekly in collaboration with Garden Operations Manager.
- Work with the Account Management Team to identify and capture client preferences, site details and execution requirements.
- Support execution in the field with training, layout, instruction and troubleshooting project needs.
- Manage direct staff. Set expectations and delivery standards for indirect staff.
- Set team up for success by having project / execution details, products ready for installation
- Provide a clear aesthetic plan that includes the products to be used seasonally and share with sales team prior to the start of each season. Identify foundational and experimental products for use in displays. Advanced notice (Approximately 4 weeks prior to season start) should be accounted for in planning for seasonal sales efforts.
- Collaborate with key team members to set standards for how each material will be used in designs (design intent), organization of plants, color and design aesthetics
- Explore new products and features that differentiate our products in the market and create brand recognition.
- Track and managing the physical and financial inventory including data capture that informs purchase planning
- Knowledge of horticulture and design
- Knowledge of annual, perennial and woody plants and their cultural need in a nursery and landscape setting.
- Ability to lead and train others
- Ability to deliver quality results under tight deadlines.
- Ability to design and install high-end planters and garden
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication
- Acumen for taking an idea from concept to execution.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn NatureWorks standards and procedures for work completion.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety and practicing safe work behaviors.
- Demonstrate accountability for work being performed and completed on schedule.
- 4 years of experience in horticultural sales and operations
- A degree in a related field preferred, MCLP and MCH certifications are a plus.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
