What You'll Do!

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to join our team as a Post Harvest Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the post-harvest operations and ensuring the efficient and smooth handling of agricultural products from the point of harvest to distribution. You will oversee a team of workers and utilize your expertise to maintain high standards of quality control, inventory management, and productivity.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of post-harvest workers, including hiring, training, and providing ongoing support.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective execution of post-harvest processes, including sorting, grading, packaging, and storage of agricultural products.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for post-harvest activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain the highest standards of product quality, including monitoring product condition, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as cultivation and quality control, to optimize the flow of products and ensure timely delivery to customers.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, reconciling discrepancies, and implementing measures to minimize shrinkage and losses.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities, ensuring proper maintenance and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Provide regular reports to management, highlighting key performance metrics, areas of improvement, and any issues or concerns that may affect operations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in post-harvest operations, recommending and implementing improvements as appropriate.

EducationQualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in post-harvest operations, preferably in the agricultural industry.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team to achieve goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Solid knowledge of quality control processes, food safety regulations, and inventory management.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in using computer software and systems related to post-harvest operations and inventory management.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds if relevant to job duties listed above.
  • Must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking throughout the workday.
  • Proficiency in ladder climbing and operating from heights of up to 15 feet from ground level while adhering to strict safety protocols.

Exposure to fertilizer, dusts, odors, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables.
