We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this hands-on role requires broad HR expertise across recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations. The HR Generalist will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting employee engagement initiatives, and contributing to our mission of making Nature’s Flavors a great place to work.This position offers significant growth potential, with opportunities to expand into strategic HR leadership, develop new programs that strengthen our culture, and take on increasing responsibility as the company continues to grow.What You’ll DoAdministrative & Compliance• Manage government correspondence (EDD, IRS, EEOC, DFEH) and ensure timely responses.• Oversee and administer employee leaves (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and other applicable programs).• Assist employees and managers with leave requests, documentation, and compliance requirements.• Maintain and update HR documents including policies, employment records, and handbooks.• Conduct audits (I-9, personnel files) to ensure compliance.• Process verifications of employment and unemployment claims.• Handle HR office tasks such as filing, reporting, scheduling, and supply management.• Act as benefits administrator, assisting employees with health plan elections.• Address employee relations issues with professionalism, confidentiality, and tact.Employee Engagement & Support• Plan and coordinate employee events, trainings, and engagement initiatives.• Partner with managers and supervisors to provide guidance on employee-related matters.• Communicate company-wide updates and foster open dialogue with employees.• Support a positive workplace culture by addressing concerns and resolving conflicts.Recruitment & Onboarding• Collaborate with management to create job postings and descriptions.• Assist in recruitment, interviewing, and hiring processes.• Manage the new hire process including offer letters, background checks, and onboarding.Safety & Wellness• Report injuries and accidents to workers’ compensation carriers and maintain safety records.What We’re Looking For• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.• HR credentials (PHR, PHRca, SHRM) preferred.• Minimum 2 years of HR experience in a generalist or similar role.• Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws.• High ethical standards, reliability, and commitment to confidentiality.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and team management abilities.• Ability to work extensively in an office environment.• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply; multilingual communication is valued in our diverse workplaceWhy Join Us• Be part of a mission-driven company that values both compliance and employee well-being.• Play a pivotal role in shaping workplace culture and supporting our diverse team.• Grow your HR career in a supportive environment with opportunities to lead initiatives.Company DescriptionAt Nature’s Flavors, we’re crafting more than just incredible taste — we’re creating a better way to live.From natural flavors to vibrant fragrances, every product we make reflects our commitment to wellness, sustainability, and originality.
