Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Spray Technician to join our team. The Spray Technician is responsible for applying chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and other treatments in a safe and effective manner. The role requires knowledge of equipment operation, chemical safety, and application best practices to ensure optimal results and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and apply chemical treatments to designated areas (e.g., lawns, buildings, industrial surfaces, ornamental plants) using sprayers and related equipment.
- Identify pest, weed, or disease issues and recommend appropriate chemical solutions.
- Mix and load chemical solutions following label instructions and safety guidelines.
- Calibrate equipment to ensure accurate chemical distribution.
- Maintain and clean spray equipment, tools, and vehicles.
- Maintain accurate application records, including chemicals used, areas treated, and weather conditions.
- Monitor treated areas for results and perform follow-up applications if needed.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding chemical usage and safety procedures.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure safe handling and storage of chemicals.
- Communicate with clients or supervisors regarding treatment plans and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- GA Pesticide Applicator’s License or ability to obtain one within [6] months of hire.
- Experience in chemical application, landscaping, pest control, agriculture, or related field preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good physical condition and ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various outdoor conditions.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Exposure to chemicals and fumes with appropriate safety measures.
- May involve early morning or weekend hours depending on project needs.
