Operate and support dietary supplement packaging lines in a GMP environment. This is a cross-trained operator role—you will rotate between packaging stations and be expected to run multiple packaging processes within trained limits. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, consistent execution, and clean documentation.
- Operate packaging line stations safely and consistently; rotate across stations as scheduled.
- Perform line start-up, in-process checks, and shutdown/clean-down per work instructions.
- Execute line clearance and label control steps to prevent mix-ups (right product, right label, right lot/date code).
- Complete production documentation using Good Documentation Practices (GDP): checksheets, verification records, counts, and required logs.
- Monitor product quality during packaging (appearance, labeling, sealing integrity, counts/weights as required). Stop and escalate when product may be out of specification.
- Clear minor jams and perform basic adjustments within trained limits; escalate to Maintenance for repairs or issues beyond operator scope.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization (5S) in the packaging area; comply with PPE, hygiene, and safety requirements.
- Support rework, inspection, and kitting/packing tasks as assigned.
- Precision: correct materials, correct labels, correct codes, correct counts.
- Documentation: if it isn’t documented, it didn’t happen.
- GMP discipline: follow procedures every time—no shortcuts.
Required
- High school diploma/GED
- Ability to stand/walk for the shift; lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and comfort with routine documentation
- Basic mechanical aptitude (comfortable clearing jams and making minor adjustments)
Highly recommended
- Bilingual Spanish/English (spoken; reading/writing a plus)
Preferred
- 1 year experience in a regulated manufacturing/packaging environment (food, dietary supplements, cosmetics, pharma)
- Experience with line clearance, label control, and GMP documentation
- Experience rotating across multiple stations on a packaging line (cross-training)
