What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Maintenance/Barn Assistant position at Nature's Edge Therapy Center?
Nature’s Edge Therapy Center is seeking a motivated individual who loves animals, enjoys hands-on work, and wants to be part of something meaningful. We are a unique nonprofit therapy center providing medically prescribed speech therapy on a 65-acre ranch setting incorporating horses, farm animals, and nature-based experiences.
This position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, beautiful, and functional property that supports therapy for individuals of all ages.
Job Details:
- Part or Full Time (Monday-Friday | 8am-5pm)
- Up to $17/Hour (depending on experience)
Responsibilities:
- Daily barn chores (feeding, watering, stall cleaning, bedding, turnout)
- Operating equipment such as a small tractor, manure spreader, and ATV
- Fence repair and property maintenance
- Monitoring animal wellness and reporting concerns
- Assisting with gardening and horticulture projects
- Maintaining clean, organized barn and therapy areas
- Mentoring and guiding volunteers
- Supporting therapists during sessions as needed
Qualifications:
- Experience with horses and/or farm animals preferred
- Experience with gardening
- Comfortable operating farm equipment
- Basic repair and maintenance skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Enjoys mentoring others and working with volunteers
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all seasons
- Valid driver’s license
