What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Development position at Naturally Lewis, Inc.?
Naturally Lewis seeks a highly skilled, self -motivated Director of Development who will be an integral part of
the economic development team, focusing on making Lewis County a great place to live, work, build business
& play. The Director of Development, will serve as the lead expert in business and property development in
Lewis County, utilizing the tools and services of our agencies and regional partners. This position will interact
directly with businesses and project developer s within the community, providing technical support and
expertise to bring projects to fruition. The Director of Development will work closely with the Executive
Director and the Naturally Lewis team in delivering one -stop economic and business development services.
Essential Position Duties
Additional duties may be assigned & existing responsibilities may change as deemed appropriate.
Work as a key member of the economic development team to support team members and team goals in
making Lewis County a great place to live, work, build business and play. Activities include, but are not
Limited To
Provide technical assistance in the development and implementation of new businesses within Lewis
County, including, but not limited too: project development assistance, financial projections, assisting
with applications and business & project planning.
Analyze budget numbers, compile financial forecasts, and create cost - benefit - analyses on internal
and external projects; including PILOT agreements and Host - Community Agreements.
Lead development negotiations as it pertains to local incentives, property acquisitions and
dispositions, and site developments.
Provide solutions and project management for new site developments and redevelopments; provide
analysis and projections to address future opportunities for growth.
Oversee and administer any internal projects that our agencies may invest in, such as business park
development or property transactions.
Coordinate internally and with partner agencies to provide optimal solutions for businesses seeking
financing and development opportunities.
Present to Boards of Directors, Board of Legislators, media outlets, and at regional and State partner
events.
Education, Experience & Skills
To perform this job, an individual must be able to ensure agency performance of all duties outlined, as well
as any other activities required to ensure Naturally Lewis is sustainable. The requirements below represent
the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must have a BA in Finance, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, and/or
equivalent work experience in a similar field.
Must have a positive attitude, be an excellent team player, must maintain effective working
relationships, have flexibility, and must have a desire to be a leader within Lewis County.
Good verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to interact well with businesses, elected officials, board members, staff and all segments of
the public.
Ability to understand and create technical reports and complex application forms.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite Intricate knowledge of Excel, including advanced formulas.
Extensive experience and high comfort level with technology (i.e. computers, smart phones).
Ability to employ online reporting systems and other internet - based tools and systems.

Attendance may be required for training, education, or seminars.
Frequent travel is required.
Attendance of meetings and functions outside of normal business hour.
