Supervisor/Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

This is a working supervisor position. The supervisor/operator will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the plant as well as performing equipment operator duties. The operator will use a front-end loader to manage the flow of material to the Tiger depackaging machine. The Tiger depackaging machine is a specialized industrial device designed to separate organic materials from their packaging for recycling or processing. This position plays a key role in ensuring high productivity and waste recovery while adhering to all safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and Monitor Machinery: Safely operate the Tiger depackager machine, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed during operation.
• Inspect and Maintain Equipment: Conduct regular inspections of the Tiger depackager and front-end loader to ensure optimal performance, report any mechanical issues, and perform basic maintenance as needed.
• Load Materials: Load packaged organic waste material into the depackager system efficiently using a front-end loader, monitoring the process to ensure accurate separation and minimal contamination.
• Quality Control: Check output quality to confirm that separation meets company standards. Monitor for any material contamination and adjust processes as required.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of material processed, machine status, and maintenance logs. Track and report any incidents or machine malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot: Identify and resolve minor operational or mechanical issues with the depackager. Escalate complex issues to the maintenance or technical team.
• Clean Equipment: Regularly clean the depackager and surrounding work area to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and participation in safety training sessions.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Prior experience operating industrial machinery, particularly depackaging or recycling equipment, is preferred.
• Heavy Equipment Operation: Previous experience operating front-end loaders and forklifts is required.
• Technical Knowledge: Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of safety protocols for machinery operation.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to monitor and control equipment with high accuracy, ensuring material quality and safety standards are met.
• Problem Solving: Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving minor mechanical issues independently.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to [Insert Weight Requirement] pounds. Must be able to work in a noisy environment with frequent exposure to varying temperatures.
• Communication: Strong communication skills to report on machinery status and collaborate with maintenance and quality control teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45.0 – 55.0 per week
