Natural Gas Commissioning Technician

Natural Gas Services Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Natural Gas Technician for Commissioning to join our team. This crucial role involves the commissioning of natural gas systems, and engines, ensuring they meet operational standards and client specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in natural gas systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in various field environments.

Responsibilities

• System Commissioning: Oversee and perform the commissioning of natural gas systems, including pressure testing, system start-up, and performance verification to ensure systems meet operational standards.
• Natural Gas System Engines: Work with natural gas system engines, including operation and maintenance.
• Caterpillar, CIP and Aerial: Manage and operate Caterpillar and aerial platforms as needed for system inspections and maintenance.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues that arise during the commissioning process, including diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical faults, PLC systems, and panels.
• Electrical Systems: Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems related to natural gas installations and operations.
• PLC and Panels: Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and control panels to ensure proper system functionality.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities, including test results, system configurations, and any modifications made.
• Compliance: Ensure all commissioning activities comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other technicians to coordinate commissioning activities and resolve any technical issues.
• Training: Provide guidance and training to junior technicians and other team members as needed.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on commissioning activities, including observations, recommendations, and any issues encountered.
  
  

Requirements

• Experience: Proven experience as a Natural Gas Technician or similar role, with a focus on system commissioning and start-up.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or training related to natural gas systems is preferred.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of natural gas systems, including pressure regulators, valves, compressors, and control systems.
• Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure.
• Safety: Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to natural gas systems and commissioning processes.
• Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and clients.
• Flexibility: Ability to work in various field environments and adapt to changing project requirements.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: Possession of industry-recognized certifications, such as those for Waukesha Engines, Caterpillar, or other relevant credentials, is desirable.
• Experience: Additional experience in related fields or advanced commissioning projects is a plus.
