Position Summary
The Assistant Controller plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the company. This position is responsible for assisting with SEC reporting, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements, and supporting operational accounting related to compression equipment and field services. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on environment and is comfortable working in and leading an accounting organization with broad responsibilities.

This position is primarily office-based in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with cross-functional collaboration.
Office Environment: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer - Ability to move about the office to access files, equipment, or attend meetings - Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment (computers, phones, printers) - Sufficient visual acuity to read documents, analyze data on computer screens, and review reports - May occasionally need to bend, reach, or stoop within the work area - Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, binders, small equipment)

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, revenue recognition, accounts payable/receivable, and fixed assets
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Assist in SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K)
- Support SOX compliance and internal controls
- Partner with operations on operational metrics and reporting
- Coordinate with auditors and support audits (internal external and operational)
- Improve accounting processes and systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)
- 5 years of accounting experience
- Small publicly traded accounting experience or large private accounting experience
- Strong GAAP knowledge
- ERP system experience and advanced Excel skills
- Proven leadership and teamwork skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Employment for this role is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and credit check
