- Purchase distribution packaging and general warehouse supplies
- Create and manage purchase orders, confirm pricing/lead times, and coordinate deliveries to meet operational needs
- Maintain supply inventory levels for critical materials; monitor usage trends, set reorder points, resolve shortages, and support cycle counts as needed
- Analyze freight spent across both Parcel and LTL/FTL on a regular cadence (e.g., weekly/monthly)
- Identify cost drivers (mode, accessorial, zone, weight/dim, carrier performance) and provide insights and recommendations to management
- Audit freight invoices and related charges
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce freight spend and waste (e.g., packaging optimization, consolidation, routing guide adherence, carrier selection, process standardization)
- Experience in data analysis work
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (Pivot Tables, lookups)
- Ability to work both individually and in a team environment
- Experience purchasing packaging and/or warehouse supplies is an asset
