There are two positions available and they are 200 days per school year

Must hold appropriate Wyoming PTSB certification

A Master's degree plus 30 post-MA credits is a minimum education requirement for employment. Preferred: Doctorate in School Psychology.

$12,000 signing bonus available for successful employee hires new to NCSD

  • $6,000 dollars given for the first year upon obtaining licensure/certification
  • $2,000 paid at the end of each school year if there are successful evaluations and contract renewal.
  • Signing bonus may be prorated based upon start date for the initial payment and the first payment at the end of the year
  • Applicants who previously received the signing bonus are not eligible for the bonus again.
  • Previous employees who are hired in signing bonus eligible position must be separated from the District for at least 365 days in order to be eligible

The job of School Psychologist is done for the purpose/s of enhancing the learning and mental health of all children through measuring and interpreting the intellectual, adaptive, academic, social and emotional development of children; interpreting results of psychological studies; interpreting and applying state and federal codes; consulting with staff; and developing and implementing strategies and interventions to address the educational needs of students.

Essential Functions

  • Administers standardized and/or supplemental assessments for the purpose of measuring the intellectual, adaptive, academic, functional behavior, social and emotional development of children and/or determining eligibility for services in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicates with students and/or parents with teachers and/or other personnel for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts.
  • Compiles information from a variety of sources (e.g. teachers, nurse, probation officer, mental health agencies, medical providers, other professionals involved in evaluation, etc.) for the purpose of producing a comprehensive evaluation report in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing responses to informational request, collaborating on plans for services, and making recommendations to meet the goals for student success.
  • Coordinates with community agencies including medical, judicial, social service and mental health services for the purpose of determining appropriate educational programming to identify and implement services and tools needed to support student learning.
  • Counsels with students, parents and guardians for the purpose of enhancing student success in school.
  • Develops ,implements, and evaluates school wide program development and program evaluation (e.g. crisis intervention services, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring effective programs to assist children who experience physical, mental, social or emotional difficulties.
  • Develops and reviews behavior plans, curriculum modifications, etc. for the purpose of implementing treatment programs.
  • Facilitates meetings, processes, etc. for the purpose of meeting curriculum guidelines and/or ensuring that state mandates are achieved.
  • Intervenes in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students for the purpose of assisting students in modifying such behavior and developing successful interpersonal skills.
  • Monitors district compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g. state and federal regulations, educational and research policies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring procedures and protocols are current, providing updates stakeholders.
  • Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. correspondence, memos, behavior improvement plans, reports, required documentation, Psych Report, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
  • Provides transition services for students (e.g. identify community and program support, etc.) for the purpose of facilitating appropriate and positive transition from district programs.
  • Provides interventions and mental health services/ support, to develop social and life skills for the purpose of enhancing student services, and ensuring student success in school.
  • Provides interventions and instructional support to develop academic skills for the purpose of enhancing student success in school.
  • Researches resources and methods (e.g. intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.) for the purpose of determining the appropriate approach for addressing students' functional goals.

Other Functions

  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
  • Supervises interns, practicum students and others as assigned (e.g. professional growth, etc.) for the purpose of monitoring performance providing and coordinating feedback on learning outcomes.

Pay: $83,753.00 - $108,610.00 per year
