Overview
WeldNative is seeking a dependable welder/fabricator who can independently fabricate high-quality handrails and staircases. This role is focused on ornamental and architectural metalwork. Attention to detail, fit-up accuracy, and finish quality are critical.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate handrails, guardrails, and staircases from shop drawings
- Cut, fit, weld, and finish mild steel components
- Produce clean, consistent welds suitable for exposed architectural finishes
- Perform ornamental weld blending (visual/architectural standard — not sanitary or food-grade)
- Work accurately and independently with minimal supervision
- Assist with onsite installations as needed
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience fabricating handrails and/or staircases
- Demonstrated ornamental or architectural metal experience
- Strong MIG welding skills (TIG a plus)
- Experience blending/grinding welds for ornamental finish quality
- Ability to fabricate square, plumb, and true assemblies
- High attention to detail, consistency, and reliability
- Must have reliable transportation
Compensation
- $25/hr during a 30-60 day probationary period
- $28–$30/hr after probation, based on skill, finish quality, and reliability
