Job Summary: 

The Mental Health Therapist provides outpatient behavioral health services to individuals, families, and groups through assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, psychotherapy, care coordination, and crisis intervention. Services are provided in an integrated healthcare setting using evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and patient-centered practices. Responsibilities include conducting Mental Health Evaluations, establishing DSM-5 diagnoses (consistent with licensure), developing treatment plans, providing therapeutic interventions, monitoring progress, and coordinating care to promote emotional wellness and improved functioning. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities and Expectations: 

Conduct comprehensive Mental Health Evaluations utilizing clinical interviews, screening instruments, and collateral information. 

Establish DSM-5 diagnoses consistent with licensure and clinical findings. 

Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals. 

Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group psychotherapy. 

Facilitate psychotherapy and psychoeducational groups. 

Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities including, but not limited to: 

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)  
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)  
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)  
  • Trauma-Informed Care  
  • Strengths-Based Therapy  
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed interventions  
  • Mindfulness-based interventions  

Monitor patient progress and update treatment plans as needed.  

Coordinate care with medical providers and community partners, including schools, CPS, probation, peer support, and substance use providers. 

Provide outpatient crisis assessment and coordinate referrals to higher levels of care when indicated. 

Develop safety plans as clinically appropriate. 

Provide culturally responsive care that respects patients' values, traditions, and support systems. 

Complete timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency, regulatory, and payer requirements. 

Participate in staffing, case consultation, supervision, and treatment team meetings. 

Maintain professional competence through continuing education. 

Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and agency policy. 

Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education): 

Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or another behavioral health discipline from an accredited college or university. 

Current Montana licensure as one of the following: 

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)  
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)  

Previous outpatient behavioral health experience preferred. 

Experience working with culturally diverse populations preferred. 

Experience with electronic health record systems preferred. 

Current Montana Driver's License. 

Ability to pass required background screening. 


Hours/Travel 

Work hours are Monday -Thursday 8AM to 5PM.  Friday 8AM to 12:00 PM. Occasional evening community events or group services may be required

Salary : $62,400 - $72,800
