Overview:
The Proofreader is responsible for reviewing legal and service-related documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance before submission, this must be done on an expedited basis.
Responsibilities:
- Proofread legal documents, affidavits, court filings, and service-related paperwork for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors
- Verify names, addresses, dates, case numbers, and other critical details for accuracy
- Ensure documents comply with court and client-specific guidelines
- Cross-check information between multiple documents and internal systems
- Communicate discrepancies or errors to the appropriate department for correction
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal information
- Meet daily productivity and quality standards
Qualifications
- Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Legal industry experience is a plus but not required
- Previous proofreading or quality control experience preferred
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
