Essential Functions:
- Coordinates recruitment, interviewing and selection of new applicants. Assists with the orientation and training of new staff pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and pharmacy technicians. Precepts pharmacy residents and students.
- Manages pharmacist schedule, workflows and ensures appropriate coverage to meet operational needs of department. Continually assesses and changes as needed workflow relative to departmental performance and standards of practice, assuring the efficient and timely completion of tasks and duties of assigned team.
- Develops and ensures compliance with department and organizational policy and procedures. Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, Joint Commission and other accrediting bodies that may govern pharmacy practice.
- Assists with preparation of the annual budget; monitors financial performance of responsible areas and works to establish corrective fiscal plans when necessary. Evaluates the cost impact of services and related supplies and develops and recommends long-range financial strategies to the Director.
- Develops annual and long-range goals and objectives for the Pharmacy Department in conjunction with the Director, Pharmacy Services; other Managers; Clinical Coordinator, and Pharmacy Clinical Leads.
- Collaborates in relevant patient care areas to ensure that quality services are being provided and that these services meet the needs of the patient populations. Participates in hospital committees, local, state, and national pharmacy organizations and/or programs related to pharmacy practice.
Education Requirement
- Doctor of Pharmacy (preferred) or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
- Master’s degree (MS, MBA, MHA, et al) and/or completion of a pharmacy residency program preferred
Current and unrestricted Licensure, or licensure-eligibility, to practice pharmacy in the state of Ohio.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledgeable of the full range of pharmacy operations throughout the department and maintain an awareness of developing trends in the field.

- Three years of experience as a hospital pharmacy manager or coordinator preferred (pediatrics preferred).
