Essential Functions:
- Performs daily/weekly system processes related to payroll. Proactively monitors and resolves payroll discrepancies and prepares payroll transfers as needed.
- Reviews and processes Payroll Costing Allocations and Adjustments in accounting system. Ensures accuracy and compliance.
- Assists with the accurate and timely closeout of awards.
- Assures compliance with all federal, state and internal regulatory restrictions on payroll.
- Uses technical knowledge of sponsored research regulations and guidelines and attention to detail to ensure financial transactions do not result in audit disallowances.
- Works closely with members of Research Accounting department, Sponsored Projects department and internal/external auditors on issues related to responsibilities.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field, required.
Experience
- One year of accounting experience, required.
- Grant accounting experience, preferred.
