Industrial Painter

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Sandblasts, steam cleans, masks, and cleans parts and equipment in preparation for painting.

• Paints equipment.

• Maintains all paint shop associated equipment.

• Cleans up shop and performs basic shop errands.

• Maintains personal respirators and safety equipment.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

Requires general knowledge of equipment painting techniques, skill in use of hand tools, and painting equipment. Working knowledge of safety practices and procedures.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1 to 2 years general shop experience.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED

Ability to properly utilize basic hand tools and shop equipment. Additional equipment includes:

• Spray gun, sandblaster, steam cleaner, crane and fork lift.

• Ability to handle weights up to 50 pounds frequently.

• Ability to read, understand and follow manufacturer directions.

• Ability to complete and submit weekly work reports and basic required documents.

• Must be punctual, have a good attendance record, and have a reliable means of transportation to work.

· Frequently sit or stand for prolonged periods of time over the course of an 8-hour day.

· Regularly communicates and must be able to exchange accurate information.

· Regularly walk, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents; and to operate assigned equipment.

· Regularly lift, carry, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds.

· Occasional use of hand tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.45 - $40.45 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
