We are seeking a Partnership Development Associate (M&A) to support our mission of identifying and cultivating business relationships with privately held, founder-led companies that align with our long-term growth objectives.


Position Summary

The Partnership Development Associate (M&A) is responsible for driving the front-end sourcing of the M&A lifecycle — from market mapping and target identification through initial engagement and qualification. Working closely with the Director of Business Development (M&A), this role combines data-driven analysis, AI-enabled research, and relationship-building to identify acquisition opportunities that fit Nations Roof’s strategic goals.

This is an ideal position for a motivated professional passionate about business growth, market intelligence, and relationship-based outreach.


Key Responsibilities

Market Mapping & Target Identification

  • Define and maintain target acquisition criteria (revenue, ownership type, geography, service offerings).

  • Build comprehensive market maps across commercial roofing, specialty contracting, and facility services industries.

  • Identify off-market opportunities through creative channels such as:

    • Bid and permit databases

    • Supplier and distributor networks

    • Industry association directories

    • Local and regional business listings


AI-Enhanced Lead Generation & Data Enrichment

  • Use AI-powered tools to identify, qualify, and enrich acquisition targets.

  • Leverage platforms such as ChatGPT-powered search, Clay, Apollo, ZoomInfo, Crunchbase, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.

  • Automate data collection via Zapier, PhantomBuster, and TexAu for real-time ownership and company insights.

  • Develop detailed company profiles including size, market presence, digital footprint, and leadership contacts.


Outreach & Early Engagement

  • Conduct professional and discreet outreach to company owners and executives.

  • Initiate discussions to confirm interest and alignment with Nations Roof’s strategic objectives.

  • Coordinate NDA execution and transition qualified opportunities to the M&A Execution team.

  • Maintain a relationship-focused, ethical approach emphasizing trust and transparency.


Collaboration & Handoff to Execution Team

  • Partner with the M&A Execution team to share target background, engagement history, and company data.

  • Deliver diligence-ready company summaries and ensure seamless communication during handoffs.

  • Support documentation flow, milestone tracking, and due diligence preparation.


Pipeline Tracking, Management & Reporting

  • Maintain an accurate M&A sourcing pipeline in CRM platforms (HubSpot, Affinity, or Salesforce).

  • Develop AI-assisted dashboards for real-time performance tracking.

  • Generate weekly and monthly reports summarizing:

    • Targets sourced and qualified

    • Outreach conversion and NDA progression

    • Market trends and sourcing efficiency

  • Identify insights and improvements to enhance sourcing productivity.


Performance Metrics

  • Volume and quality of acquisition targets sourced monthly.

  • Outreach-to-NDA conversion rate.

  • Accuracy and completeness of CRM data.

  • Timeliness and quality of handoffs to the Execution team.

  • Proactive collaboration and reporting excellence.


Skills & Knowledge

  • Advanced use of AI-driven search tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Bing Copilot).

  • Proficiency with data sourcing platforms (PitchBook, Apollo, ZoomInfo, Clay, Crunchbase, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).

  • CRM expertise (HubSpot, Affinity, Salesforce) and automated workflow design.

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills using Excel, Power BI, or equivalent tools.

  • Familiarity with automation tools (Zapier, TexAu, PhantomBuster, Clearbit).

  • Exceptional organization, detail orientation, and communication skills.

  • Relationship-oriented with the ability to engage founders and executives professionally.

  • Collaborative team player bridging sourcing, analytics, and execution.


Education & Experience

  • 2 years of experience in M&A sourcing, lead generation, or business development (3–5 years preferred).

  • Proven cold-calling and outreach success initiating first-contact discussions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred.

  • Experience in construction, industrial services, or facility management highly desired.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and qualify privately held businesses.

  • Occasional travel required for in-person meetings and strategy sessions.
