What are the responsibilities and job description for the After-School Staff - Refugee Youth Program position at Nations Ministry Center?
Nations Ministry Center is looking for team members to join our after school literacy program to help refugee and immigrant children become grade level readers and adjust to their new lives in Nashville. Our mission is helping families become generationally successful.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creating a safe environment in which refugee and immigrant youth can thrive academically and socially
- Assisting youth with an on-line literacy program and their homework
- Facilitating social and emotional learning activities and other enrichment activities
- Keeping statistics and working toward meeting grant outcomes
- Other duties as assigned
Team members will work in our after-school literacy program when school is in session.
Schedule options are the following:
1) Monday-Friday from 2:00pm - 6:15pm
2) Monday-Thursday from 2:00pm - 6:15pm
3) Monday-Thursday from 3:00pm - 6:15pm
Compensation starts at $19 an hour. Benefits include paid holidays, paid time off, and eligibility to participate in a simple IRA retirement plan.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates will have a strong commitment to Nations Ministry Center’s mission, compassion for children who have lived through traumatic events, and a willingness to be trained in the most effective responses.
- Applicant must be able to pass a background check and have a clean driving record.
