Summary:

The Washington Nationals Baseball Operations Department is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and service-oriented Executive Assistant to support the President of Baseball Operations and broader Baseball Operations leadership. This full-time role is central to the day-to-day functioning of the department, combining high-level executive support with office management responsibilities.

We’re looking for someone who brings joy and energy to the workplace – someone who stays positive through the ups and downs of a long season and adds value by being a great presence in the room. The ideal candidate is exceptionally organized and detail-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. We are looking for someone who carries themselves with humility and embraces every task with a sense of purpose and pride. Integrity is essential: we value individuals who are dependable, accountable, and follow through on their commitments.

Whether you're early in your career or a seasoned professional, this position offers the opportunity to be a vital part of a collaborative, high-performing front office. If you’re someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys supporting others, and believes in doing things the right way, we encourage you to apply.

The Nationals are a military-friendly organization actively recruiting veterans and spouses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Executive Support

  • Provide direct administrative support to the President of Baseball Operations and other members of the senior Baseball Operations leadership group, including calendar management, travel coordination, and expense reporting.
  • Prepare meeting materials and agendas with limited oversight, as needed. Anticipate needs in advance and attend meetings as requested, in a support/documentation role.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Be a consistent, dependable presence who brings energy and optimism to the office.

Office Management

  • Manage day-to-day office operations including kitchen and supply management and workspace organization, and budgeting tasks related thereto.
  • Serve as a central resource for staff support, working cross-functionally to address internal requests and ensure they’re directed to the appropriate departments.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for Baseball Operations staff, interns, and consultants, ensuring a welcoming and respectful environment for all.

Meeting and Event Coordination

  • Coordinate and schedule interviews for Baseball Operations candidates, including managing calendar invites, hospitality arrangements, and logistical support.
  • Organize and manage the execution and budgeting of team-building events such as department events and seasonal gatherings, contributing to a culture of connection and shared purpose.
  • Manage and execute logistics relating to planning for major baseball events such as Spring Training, Trade Deadline, Amateur Draft, Winter Meetings, and other organizational meetings.

Administrative Operations

  • A humble and service-oriented mindset, with a willingness to take on any task and contribute meaningfully.
  • High integrity and accountability, with a strong sense of dependability and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, consistently adding value without requiring constant direction.
