The Motor Coach Operations Manager oversees daily operational performance for our charter and line-run motor coach division. This role leads dispatch, driver scheduling, fleet readiness, safety compliance, and customer service execution. The ideal candidate is a proactive, solutions-driven leader who ensures safe, reliable, and exceptional service delivery. 


 Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct day-to-day motor coach operations to ensure safe, on-time, and high-quality service.
  • Oversee dispatch functions, including trip assignments, driver scheduling, and after-hours on-call rotation.
  • Maintain accurate bus availability, out-of-service reporting, and spare bus utilization.
  • Partner with maintenance leadership to monitor fleet readiness and escalate urgent mechanical issues.
  • Communicate with drivers regarding trip updates, policy expectations, and incident response.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, state regulations, and internal safety standards.
  • Review and approve driver hours, payroll, and timekeeping accuracy.
  • Coordinate charter logistics, customer requirements, and special service needs.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and development of drivers and dispatch staff.
  • Lead operational reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as point of contact for escalated customer issues and service disruptions.


 Work Environment

  • Fast-paced transportation operations environment.
  • Requires availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call rotation.

Job Requirements

  • 3–5 years of transportation operations experience; motor coach or school bus preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and hours-of-service requirements.
  • Proven leadership experience with frontline transportation teams.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive operational demands.
  • Experience with dispatching systems, GPS/telematics, and scheduling tools.
