What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Coordinator position at National Support Solutions?
About the Role
We are looking for an organized, proactive Construction Coordinator to manage the daily operations of our residential projects. In this hybrid role, you will act as the central operational hub of the company—splitting time between office management (permits, scheduling, customer communications) and site visits (subcontractor direction, site updates, quality oversight).
Key Responsibilities
- Subcontractor & Field Coordination: Issue schedule updates to trade partners, confirm daily site progress, deliver instructions to subcontractors on-site, and ensure job sites remain safe and clean.
- Permitting & Compliance: Prepare, submit, and track building permit applications with municipal departments. Schedule required city inspections and ensure site compliance.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients once a contract is signed. Send weekly progress updates, photos, and answer day-to-day inquiries.
- Scheduling & Logistics: Maintain and update project timelines. Coordinate material deliveries with suppliers so trades have what they need on-site without delay.
- Site Inspections & Documentation: Perform 3–5 weekly site visits per active job to log daily progress, take job photos, track change orders, and verify work quality before sub invoices are approved.
- Qualifications & Experience Experience: 2 years of experience in residential construction, trade coordination, or project administration.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of residential building phases, local permitting procedures, and reading construction plans.
- Software Skills: Tech-savvy; comfortable using project management software (JobTread, Buildertrend, or similar), Google Workspace, and digital messaging tools.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong conflict-resolution skills.
- Requirements: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation for local site visits, and ability to visit active construction sites safely.
