What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boat Mechanic - Seasonal Helper position at National Performance Warehouse?
This is a Full-Time seasonal position.
NPW is seeking a team player who is driven, and ready for new challenges to join our team as a Boat Mechanic and assist during our busy season.
The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for performing repair work on inboard and outboard marine engines using hand and power tools and technical manuals. They also will regularly inspect and test engine equipment to determine mechanical issues and problems.

Responsibilities:
The Boat Mechanic position will also be responsible in diagnosing, adjusting and overhauling marine machinery on all vessels and equipment operated by FICA.
- Maintain preventive maintenance protocol to ensure optimum fleet operation.
- Maintain a reliable attendance record
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Carryout services and minor repairs on inboard and outboard engines.
- Troubleshoot engine, hydraulic system, and electrical problems.
- Replace broken or worn-out engine parts.
- Conduct maintenance and upkeep on water vessel.
- Complete service records and repair documents.
- Communicate concerns and job-related issues to the manager or supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Certification a PLUS!
- Proven work experience as a marine mechanic.
- Knowledge of marine equipment, engines, and boat systems.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
- MUST be self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented.
- Communicate well in both written and verbal form.
- Capable of managing time effectively and multi-tasking as necessary.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Consistently lift/carry 10-20lbs.
- Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs.
- Bend, reach, lift, and climb ladders/steps.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or craw.
