What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineer position at National Nonwovens?
Define, monitor, develop and correct manufacturing processes. Develop new products/processes. Act as custodian of process/product specifications system. Suggest implementation of new processes and products as defined by product development. Perform assigned duties and responsibilities to support the safe and productive manufacture of a quality product and to meet the goals of the corporation.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the most efficient and productive machine utilization via proper operating procedure.
- Execute program/project objectives as defined by supervisor. Responsible for running trial activities. Monitor and report on trials in a written document. Recommend changes to specifications and processes based on sound scientific principles.
- Conduct observation of personnel, process and equipment to determine procedural requirements.
- Monitor plant activity. Troubleshoot when the need arises. Recommend changes to process specifications and equipment.
- Investigate facility problems and recommend solutions including equipment modifications, operating procedure, update, maintenance, etc.
- Conduct lab experiments to support project activities and process development. Provide a timely written report of results and recommendations.
- Keep up with advances in technology through magazine subscriptions, patent literature, suppliers and outside sources when available.
- Analyze work study data, processes, equipment and product specifications to establish time and production standards.
- Report weekly o activities and next steps.
- Adhere to and enforce the use of safe work practices following safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain files, logs and other departmental records to ensure availability and organization of information contained in them.
- Other responsibilities/duties as required or requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Textile)
- 3-years experience in technical or manufacturing with experience in nonwovens manufacturing, dyeing and finishing textiles.
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
