What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Manager position at National Nonwovens?
The ideal candidate will be able to sell and market National Nonwovens and its products to new and existing markets nationally. Assist with product development, marketing and directing market strategies for all products in assigned product line. Ensure performance of all responsibilities and duties support the goals of the corporation.
Responsibilities
- Through customer contact, promote products and company; expand customer base and increase sales.
- Travel and make sales calls to accounts and potential customers promoting sales.
- Help National Nonwovens re-establish credibility in the marketplace and promote the belief and expectation that National Nonwovens is a value-added resource.
- Actively seek out new market applications within the existing products and better prepare them to meet customer demands. Continually monitor competitive activity. Identify opportunities and threats.
- Monitor the market for new product opportunities. Recognize and address market needs and changes. Research and propose development of new or modified products.
- Perform necessary market research and prepare detailed marketing plans for current and proposed products. Provide market strategy recommendations and plans for implementation.
- Participate in all phases of new product development; from idea generation to product distribution and commercialization.
- Review and recommend product distribution channels; develop and revise distribution networks for new and existing products.
- Prepare and submit week reports: summary of specific activities that need immediate attention, sample requests from existing or potential customers, travel itinerary focusing on a specific geographical region and key accounts, and an expense report to account for business expenses.
- Complete and submit daily, call reports with description of information needed to solicit business: accurate data on people, addresses, phone numbers, sample progress, product quality and contacts.
- Study and review stock status monthly, to ensure there is adequate supply to fill orders.
- Prepare yearly and rolling forecasts to determine as accurately as possible, future manufacturing requirements.
- Report monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales to fill manufacturing facilities with profitable and agreeable business.
- Prepare and submit rolling 4-week itinerary to record planned activities, travel plans, and key accounts and prospects to be contacted.
Qualifications
- Training/Education: Bachelors' Degree in business administration or sales/marketing.
- 10 years experience in sales, territory management, merchandising, retail/wholesale, buying, advertising, trade shows.
- Excellent organizational skills and very good communication skills. Ability to work independently. Knowledge of assigned market; products, buying patterns and trends.
