Duties and Responsibilities
- Travel to the sites scheduled to provide imaging to the patients
- Explaining the procedure to the patients
- Positioning the patient properly
- Positioning Radiation protection devices, such as lead shields
- Setting X-ray equipment at the correct angle and height over the appropriate area of a patient's body
- Setting Controls on the X-ray machine to produce X-rays or radiographs of the appropriate density, detail, and contracts
- Placing an exposure board beneath and under the part of the patient's body to be examined and making the exposure
- Computer knowledge
- Transmitting images via web-based PAC systems
- Following the Physician's instructions and orders precisely
- Keeping patient records and adjusting/maintaining equipment
- Ability to travel short and long distances to place of service
Requireme
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration and State license for Imaging- required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) requ
- Driver's license with a clean record - required
