What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMT position at National Medic?
Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergent and non-emergent calls and provide medical assistance to patients in various settings, including homes, public places, and the ER.
- Assess patients' conditions and administer appropriate medical treatments and interventions.
- Safely transport patients to medical facilities while providing continuous care and monitoring.
- Communicate with healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses, to provide accurate patient information and receive instructions.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and observations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain and clean medical equipment and supplies.
Requirements:
- Valid certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
- Knowledge of emergency medical procedures, protocols, and techniques.
- Ability to drive an ambulance safely and responsibly.
- Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and maneuvering of patients in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions in critical situations.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
