The primary role of this position includes but is not limited to fitting/fabricating/welding of ornamental steel and aluminum, independently and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Principal Responsibilities
- Maintaining a Philosophy of Continuous Improvement
- Willingness to learn new things
- Ability to layout structural steel members. WF’s, HSS, Pipe, etc.
- SMAW Welding
- Must be able to interpret architectural and structural details from construction drawings
- Structural Steel Fabrication Experience
- 4 – 5 years Min. Experience
- Grinding, Sanding
- Working closely with all individuals in this department and as a team.
- Maintaining a focus on your internal customer (shipping.)
- Ensuring Crane Reports are filled out daily and turned in
- Helping to ensure that our processes flowchart is followed
- Encourage others to speak up and help their teammates towards success
- Always keeping Safety at the forefront and encouraging a safety minded culture
- Detail orientated and proficient with numbers and Blueprints
- Ability to problem solve and multi-task
- Ensuring that material is processed and delivered to our customers on time.
- Work closely with all departments
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Operating an Overhead Crane
- Driving a forklift
Qualifications / Requirements
- Dependable and demonstrated organization
- Lift and carry up to 75lbs for 25’ – 0” unassisted
- Proficient with numbers and blueprints
- Lift and place above chest height up to 75lbs
- Ability to make decisions quickly and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Organized and highly detailed. Self-motivated.
- Must be able to work within a team setting and effectively communicate with multiple departments.
- Safety and OSHA compliant.
- Pass a post offer non D.O.T. physical and Musculoskeletal Assessment
- Pass a post offer non D.O.T. drug screen
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, work orders, and quality documents.
