What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Marketing Account Manager position at National Mail Marketing Corporation?
National Mail Marketing Corporation (NMMC) is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and organized team-player to serve as Strategic Account Manager (SAM). This pivotal role will serve as the primary point of contact, in conjunction with sales, for our current clients and prospects, managing all aspects of their accounts to ensure satisfaction and success. Furthermore, the SAM will communicate clients’ plans to internal team leaders and organize them to produce best practice campaigns. It is essential the ideal candidate possesses direct marketing as well as strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering top-notch service.
Account Coordination:
-Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies tailored to each client's unique goals and target audience.
-Manage the end-to-end execution of client campaigns, including timeline development, resource allocation, and quality assurance.
-Monitor campaign performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular updates to clients and making data-driven recommendations for optimization.
-Daily coordination with creative, production, and media teams to ensure the timely delivery of all campaign assets and materials.
-Conduct post-campaign analysis to evaluate success metrics, identify areas for improvement, and share insights with clients to inform future strategies.
Financial Oversight:
-Work closely with the finance team to track client budgets, invoices, and payments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual agreements.
-Generate client estimates, proposals, and contracts in collaboration with sales and finance teams, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company profitability targets.
-Monitor account receivables and follow up on overdue payments, escalating issues as needed to maintain positive client relationships and financial stability.
Reporting and Communication:
-Prepare comprehensive client reports and presentations that highlight campaign performance, key insights, and actionable recommendations.
-Schedule and facilitate quarterly business reviews and strategic planning sessions with clients, ensuring alignment on goals and priorities.
-Serve as a conduit for communication between clients and internal teams, conveying client feedback, requests, and project updates to ensure seamless execution and client satisfaction.
-Conduct regularly scheduled status meetings for external (clients) as well as
internal (project team) stakeholders.
Team Collaboration:
-Foster strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, including production, creative, digital, analytics, and account management, to drive collaboration and achieve client objectives.
-Act as a subject matter expert on client accounts, providing guidance and support to internal teams on client preferences, goals, and expectations.
-Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice sharing sessions to ensure continuous improvement and alignment across client accounts.
Client Relationship Management:
-Develop a deep understanding of each client's business objectives, industry landscape, and
competitive environment.
-Proactively communicate with clients to assess their satisfaction levels, address any
concerns, manage expectations, and identify opportunities for additional services or support.
-Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate
responses to all requests.
-Conduct regular check-ins and strategy sessions with clients to review campaign
performance, gather feedback, and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
Sales Support:
-Assist the sales team in prospecting, qualifying leads, and responding to requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposals (RFPs).
-Participate in client meetings, presentations, and pitches as needed, providing insights and recommendations to help secure new business opportunities.
-Support the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to account management and establishing clear expectations for ongoing collaboration and communication.
· Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field
· Proven experience in account management or client services, 5 years in marketing or advertising a must.
· Ability to travel for conferences and client meetings
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and colleagues.
· Detail-oriented and organized, with strong project management abilities.
· Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently and as part of a team.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.
Knowledge of print, mail, and/or digital disciplines is a must
