Through technical assistance, member education, and strategic partnerships, the Center empowers cities, towns, and villages to implement effective, equitable, and sustainable solutions.

Position Overview
The Center for Municipal Practice is seeking highly motivated interns to support its work in delivering technical assistance, conducting research, and developing resources for local governments. This internship offers a unique opportunity to engage with a wide range of municipal issues and contribute to projects that directly impact communities across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on municipal policy areas including housing, infrastructure, equity, sustainability, and economic development.
- Assist in the development of reports, case studies, toolkits, and other resources for local leaders.
- Support the planning and execution of webinars, workshops, and peer learning events.
- Help track and evaluate the impact of technical assistance and member engagement activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support ongoing initiatives.
- Provide administrative and logistical support as needed.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate in public policy, urban planning, public administration, or a related field.
- Strong interest in local government, community development, and equity-focused policy.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with data analysis, GIS, or community engagement is a plus.
