Organizational Overview: Founded in 1994, the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice (Latina Institute) builds Latine power to fight for the fundamental human right to reproductive health, dignity, and justice. We center Latine voices, mobilize our communities, transform the cultural narrative, and drive policy change. We amplify the grassroots power and thought leadership of Latine across the country to fuel a larger reproductive justice movement.

Position Overview: The Latina Institute seeks an outgoing, Spanish- speaking Florida Field Organizer who is passionate about organizing and elevating the voices of Latina/x communities in Florida. This role advances local and statewide advocacy and organizing strategies by building community power, developing leaders, and expanding civic engagement efforts. Working in coordination with the Florida state team, the Field Organizer will recruit and engage activists, support leadership development, and implement community-based organizing strategies to grow the reproductive justice movement.

Reporting to the Florida State Manager, the ideal candidate is personal, collaborative, and relationship driven. They thrive in team environments, are comfortable working closely with colleagues and community partners, and are committed to building power within the community. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, a significant, ongoing commitment to phone-based outreach and the ability to effectively engage and support adult learners in leadership development spaces.

Due to the nature of this role, you must:

· Live in Miami-Dade County.

· Be able to travel to various locations around the state regularly and occasionally, the country, to work from and participate in in-person events, meetings, and complete required activities or tasks.

This position serves as a direct liaison to Spanish- speaking community members, and Spanish proficiency is essential to performing the core duties of the job. English proficiency is not required.

Location: Miami, FL

The Latina Institute operates as a remote organization but requires certain roles to be based in specific locations or to work in a hybrid capacity.

Due to the nature of this role, you must

· Live in Miami-Dade County.

· Be able to travel to various locations around the country, to work from and participate in in-person events, meetings, and complete required activities or tasks.

Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):

Organizing, Base Building & Leadership Development

· Build and grow a cadre of Latina/x activists to advance the Latina Institute agenda through organizing and outreach to community members and organizations

· Develop and maintain consistent communication and relationships with new and existing activists through one-on-ones and other trust-building activities

· Recruit, motivate, and engage activists to participate in community activities, including educational workshops, mobilizations, canvassing, tabling, panels, phone and text banking, elected official outreach, health fairs, and festivals

· Support the development of activists by delivering political education trainings, building leadership skills, and coordinating opportunities for them to lead or support grassroots campaigns and civic engagement efforts

· Foster a sustainable, inclusive, and collective healing space for activists

· Research, coordinate, and confirm logistic for in-person and virtual events, including venue/partner coordination and participant follow-up

Data & Systems Management

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date activist databases, including consistent data entry and tracking of all engagement activities

· Use digital tools to manage communication and engagement with activists

Communications, Media & Rapid Response

· Collaborate with the communications team to draft organizing and advocacy communications

· Activate the base to respond to urgent issues and actions in the field

· Serve as a spokesperson for media and communications opportunities, as needed

Collaboration

· Work collaboratively with the Florida State Manager and other staff on grassroots advocacy, organizing, and media efforts

Administrative

· Develop work plans, track progress toward goals, and report on activities and outcomes

· Track and record lobbying efforts in a timely manner

· Manage and reconcile expenses related to organizing activities and travel within the state budget

· Support grant reporting and organizational fundraising efforts

· Perform other duties as assigned

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

· Spanish fluency (written and spoken) required

· At least 2 years of prior community organizing experience

· Familiarity with Florida’s local communities and social justice landscape preferred

· Demonstrated commitment to reproductive justice and social justice issues

· An outgoing, personable communication style, strong public speaking skills

· Ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse communities

· Comfort with call time and direct outreach

· Ability to engage and support adult learners in leadership development spaces

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, and digital organizing tools

· Experience with platforms such as EveryAction, VAN, or SMS texting tools is a plus

· Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle to travel around FL is required

Employee Status: Full Time, Exempt

40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends required based on program needs.

Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 based on experience.
