This position is located within the Auditory and Vestibular Clinical Research Section (AVCRS), Neurotology Branch (NB), National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), National Institutes of Health (NIH). The incumbent engages in clinical research on mechanisms of auditory and vestibular function/dysfunction, rare disease, and earliest detection in humans across the lifespan.

Qualifications:

In order to qualify for this position you must show all of the following:

A. Education Requirement:Completed a graduate or higher level degree that included 18 semester hours in the field of audiology with approved clinical practice. The education program must have been approved, recognized, or accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) at the time the degree was obtained.

AND

B. Licensure Requirement: In addition, you must have a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice Audiology in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

AND

C. In addition to meeting the education and licensure requirements, you must also possess relevant experience to qualify for this position:

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1.) Conducting clinical assessments of hearing/vestibular disorders using standardized evaluation methods, 2.) Developing treatment plans for patients with hearing/vestibular disorders in a clinical research setting, 3.) Conducting research studies focused on improving scientific knowledge of hearing/vestibular disorders, 4.) Delivering formal instruction to audiologists, audiology assistants, trainees and/or related specialists or related specialists on treatment methods for hearing/vestibular disorders.
