This seniorlevel IT Business Analyst embedded within Finance will support insurance financial reporting, close, and controldriven initiatives. A successful Analyst will have direct experience supporting Finance teams at an insurance carrier, translating accounting and financial reporting requirements into system, data, and process changes.
This position will be with National Indemnity Company in Omaha Nebraska. This position is NOT Eligible for employer visa sponsorship.
What will you do?
Elicit, document, and validate requirements related to:
- Financial close and reconciliation processes
- Statutory and GAAP reporting
- Intercompany, reinsurance, and allocation workflows
- Finance controls, audit support, and data lineage
Translate Finance requirements into:
- User stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Functional specifications for data, reports, and interfaces
- Test scenarios supporting UAT and control validation
Partner with Finance stakeholders to:
- Analyze upstream/downstream systems impacts
- Identify data gaps, logic issues and control risks
- Support production issues tied to financial results
Collaborate closely with developers, QA, and data teams to ensure solutions meet financial accuracy, completeness, and auditability standards.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor degree in business or related field or equivalent
5 years related work experience
Personal computer and data manipulation software, including SQL and MS Office.
Knowledge of technology testing methods and procedures
Preferred
- 5 years as a Business Analyst supporting Finance or Accounting teams
- Direct experience working at an insurance carrier (P&C, Life, Health, or Specialty)
- Demonstrated support of insurance financial reporting, such as: Statutory (STAT) or GAAP reporting, Financial close and reconciliationsand Intercompany or reinsurance accounting processes
- Experience translating accountingdriven requirements into IT deliverables (not just process mapping).
- Proven ability to work with: Controllers, Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy or Audit teams
