As a Program Manager, You Will
- Manages the personnel and resources of the GMO Office. Develops and manages the office budget to include staffing, travel, training, and administrative expenses. Establishes staff assignments and duties to ensure that activities, projects, and resources are directed to accomplishing Agency goals and priorities.
- Serves as principal advisor to the Associate Administrator for ROPD providing daily coordination and administration of the NHTSA highway safety formula grant programs in consonance with policies and priorities established by the Associate Administrator, Statute and Regulations.
- Manages the IT systems that support the NHTSA highway safety formula grant programs and associate State oversight and performance measurement activities.
- Oversees the administration of the NHTSA highway safety formulagrant programs, with an emphasis on compliance with performance measurement requirements. Provides guidance on national implementation policy for the execution of the Section 402 and 405 programs and other related transfer programs and grants.
- Provides leadership for the implementation of the NHTSA highway safety formula grant programs, including highway safety planning and performance measurement.

- Experience in overseeing the administration of Federal, State or local grant programs, with an emphasis on compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in managing and leading a team to provide effective customer service in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of quality and productivity in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment.
- Experience in presenting sensitive recommendations and briefings to senior leadership both in writing and through high-level presentations that embody a customer service-orientated posture and utilize interpersonal skills.
- Grants Management Laws, Regulations and Guidelines: Knowledge of Federal principles, laws regulations, policies, practices and guidelines (for example, Code of Federal Regulations, OMB circulars) of grant programs.
- Leadership and Supervision: Lead staff members toward meeting the organization's mission and goals. Demonstrates flexibility and resilience, fosters continuous improvement and innovation, develops others, fosters honesty and integrity, manages performance (communicates performance standards and expectations, gives constructive feedback and inspired change).
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with the senior leadership, regional office teams, state highway safety office officials and stakeholder groups using plain language in a succinct and organized manner, produces written technical information that is appropriate for the intended audiences.
