POSITION SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for processing, assisting and supervision of various central accounting and finance duties in the company's Finance Department, including but not limited to online banking processes, commissions, claims payments, bank reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany reconciliation, Quickbooks, etc.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Process and record financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Participate in budget preparation and track budget vs. actual revenue/expenses.
- Generate and analyze financial statements as needed.
- Correct, process, reconcile various accounting documents.
- Produce financial reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting issues.
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures.
Other job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- 3-5 years of direct accounting experience, preference for experience in insurance/healthcare
- balance sheet reconciliation
- Advanced skills in MS Excel
- Quickbooks experience
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills
