Position Summary
The Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting duties, banking activities and processes, in support of the company’s day-to-day activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Support Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable functions
- Assist with weekly Claims & Commissions
- Assist with Billing and Account Reconciliations
- Provide support for monthly/year-end accounting functions and audit preparation
- Support payroll processing
- Perform basic administrative functions such as mailing, filing, scanning, downloading and sorting
- Update spreadsheets for various tasks
- Correct, process, reconcile various accounting documents
- Produce financial reports
- Assist with other accounting projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum AA degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum two years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping, finance, or related field
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Preferred experience with ACH, wire transfers (local and international), banking experience
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Basic computer processing skills, including experience with Microsoft Office
- Advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of basic accounting terminology and practices
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to find and correct errors
- Prioritization abilities

Work Environment
The role primarily operates in an in-door, climate-controlled office setting working in close proximity to others. Noise level in the work environment is low to moderate. Light level provides adequate brightness for reading, computer work, and other tasks without causing glare or strain.

The job primarily involves sedentary work with prolonged periods sitting at a desk. While performing the duties of this job, employees may occasionally be expected to:
