Facility location: White Oak Manor York - 111 S Congress Street, York, SC 29745 We are a beautiful small 109-bed skilled nursing center with short-term rehab services.
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Dietary Director to lead our food service team in a long-term care setting. The Dietary Director must be CDM--Certified Dietary Manager or DTR --Dietetic Technician, Registered. In this role, you will lead the daily operations of the food service department, ensuring high-quality meal service, regulatory compliance, and exceptional nutrition care for residents. This is a wonderful opportunity for a dedicated leader who is passionate about creating a positive dining experience and making a meaningful impact. This role oversees staff, budgets, and food safety programs while supporting clinical nutrition needs in a long-term care environment.
What You’ll Do
♦ Oversee daily dietary department operations in compliance with regulations
♦ Hire, train, and manage dietary staff while maintaining schedules and performance standards
♦ Maintain food preparation standards, menus, and therapeutic diet compliance
♦ Monitor meal quality, presentation, and timely service
♦ Ensure adherence to HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) sanitation, and health regulations
♦ Oversee safe food handling, storage, and inspection readiness
♦ Manage diet orders and collaborate with clinical teams to support resident needs
♦ Assist in addressing nutritional risks and supporting care plans
♦ Control department budget, purchasing, and inventory
♦ Improve efficiency through waste reduction and process improvements
♦ Work with residents, families, staff, and vendors
♦ Support meetings, committees, and special events
What You’ll Need
♦ CDM or CFPP (Certified Food Protection Professional) preferred
♦ Associate’s degree or higher in food service, nutrition, or related field
♦ Healthcare or long-term care food service experience
♦ Experience managing staff, food quality, and compliance
♦ Menu planning and therapeutic diets knowledge preferred♦ Strong leadership and communication skills
♦ Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
♦ Budgeting, inventory, and cost control experience
♦ Organized with strong attention to detail
