Assistant Director of Nursing Registered Nurse

Are you a compassionate, knowledgeable nursing leader who is passionate about providing exceptional resident care? We are seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support our Director of Nursing in leading a dedicated nursing team and ensuring the highest standards of clinical care in our long-term care community.
In this role, you will help oversee nursing operations, support and mentor staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of excellence that enhances the quality of life for our residents.
What You'll Do
- Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily nursing operations and clinical services
- Help recruit, onboard, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff
- Develop, implement, and monitor resident care plans to ensure quality outcomes
- Prepare staffing schedules and coordinate shift coverage to maintain appropriate staffing levels
- Ensure nursing staff follow established policies, procedures, and best practices
- Conduct resident rounds and address concerns, complaints, and care-related issues promptly.
- Monitor clinical performance and recommend process improvements to enhance resident care
- Coordinate and facilitate staff meetings, education, and resident care updates
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident and employee records.
- Support budget planning and assist with managing departmental expenses.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies.
- Serve as a clinical resource and provide leadership support to nursing staff across all shifts.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Previous experience in Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Working knowledge of healthcare software, electronic medical records, and computer applications.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive in stressful situations.
- Ability to effectively supervise, coach, and develop nursing staff.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, resident-centered care.
- Flexibility to occasionally work evenings, nights, weekends, or provide on-call support, as needed. As a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week facility, our residents and nursing team rely on strong clinical leadership across all shifts.

What We’re Looking For:
- Current South Carolina RN license in good standing.

- Long-term care experience preferred but not required.
