Description of Work
- Conduct patient sick calls weekly
- Assist physician with sick calls as directed
- Use approved facility protocols to treat minor injuries and illnesses that do not require physician attention
- Prepare and administer medications as per the physician's order
- Refer patients to physicians’ clinics or hospitals as appropriate
- Maintain stock and supplies in a neat, secure, and orderly manner
- Maintain adequate inventory of drugs and medical supplies
- Prepare medical records, medications, and information for transferring patients
- Ensure that all treatments and medications are fully documented in the patient’s health record
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Active/Clear Licensure by the NC State Board of Nursing
- Minimum 1-year clinical experience
- Direct care experience within the previous year
- Clinical/corrections experience preferred but not mandatory
- Active/Clear CPR and CPI, or NCI (American Heart Association)
- Physical activity requirements include climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, and hearing.
- Successful completion of screening/application requirements (e.g., competency testing, drug screening, background check)
