Join BAE Systems' award-winning security team at Electronic Systems (ES) as a Senior Security Specialist. This critical role provides centralized administrative and operational support for the entire ES Security function, ensuring the seamless execution of business processes across more than sixty (60) sites. Reporting to the security leadership team, this position serves as the primary hub for financial administration, regulatory compliance, and asset management, directly impacting the operational readiness and legal standing of the sector's physical security infrastructure.
The Senior Security Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end management of physical security operating expenses, maintaining the rigorous standards required for UL 2050 compliance, and overseeing the lifecycle of critical security assets. The role requires a professional who can bridge the gap between technical security requirements and corporate business processes, collaborating closely with accounts payable, procurement, and external vendors to ensure the sector remains fully funded and operational.
Beyond maintaining current standards, the Senior Security Specialist is expected to act as a catalyst for modernization. The ideal candidate will analyze existing administrative workflows to drive efficiencies, optimize resource management, and provide sector leadership with enhanced visibility into operational performance and spend.
Job Summary:
As the Senior Security Specialist, you will own the centralized administrative and compliance framework that supports the Electronic Systems sector-wide physical security program.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all physical security operating expenses (OPEX) and supports capital expenditures (CAPEX) for the sector, ensuring accurate budgeting and timely payment of services.
Collaborate with internal accounts payable and buyer partners across respective CAS segments to navigate corporate financial workflows.
Maintain and manage relationships with external suppliers and vendors, including the administration of purchase orders and the coordination of physical security maintenance activities.
Serve as the primary lead for UL 2050 compliance, maintaining organized records of all sector certifications and documentation.
Apply working knowledge of UL 2050 requirements to prepare the organization for audits and inspections, ensuring zero-gap compliance.
Conduct monthly administration reviews to ensure operational adherence to sector standards and act as a key support liaison for contracted guard services to ensure service delivery aligns with sector requirements.
Oversee the organization and distribution of security equipment inventory, including radios, satellite phones, emergency kits, and BAE-issued assets for guard services.
Coordinate the execution and centralized tracking of recurring compliance tasks, including supporting PSAP documentation, perimeter door checks, badge review actions, and operational functionality testing of security equipment.
Develop and maintain physical security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure documentation remains current, accurate, and aligned with existing procedures.
Modernize administrative processes by implementing new tools or workflows to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
Develop reporting mechanisms to provide sector leadership with a clear view of operational efficiencies and financial trends.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the evolving needs of the ES Security function.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
An active Secret security clearance with a minimum of five to seven years of experience in security operations, compliance, or corporate administration within a complex organizational structure.with minimum of a high school diploma
Demonstrated experience managing budgets, operating expenses, and procurement processes (PO administration).
Proven track record of maintaining regulatory compliance records and successfully navigating formal audits.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage administrative requirements for a multi-site operation (60 locations).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with financial partners, external vendors, and senior leadership.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and corporate financial systems.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Undergraduate degree in criminal justice, business administration, security management, or a related field
Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification.
Direct experience with UL 2050 standards and the certification process for high-security facilities.
Experience working within the defense or aerospace industry in a highly regulated environment.
Experience managing geographically dispersed assets and inventory.
Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and modernize legacy administrative workflows.
Active Secret security clearance.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $82779 - $140723
