Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Operate stencil machines and marking equipment to apply part numbers, serial numbers, logos, and other required identification to components and finished goods
Read and interpret work orders, engineering drawings, and bills of material (BOMs) to ensure accurate marking requirements
Prepare surfaces for stenciling by cleaning, masking, and positioning parts as required
Mix and apply paints, inks, or coatings in accordance with specifications and safety guidelines
Verify accuracy, alignment, and legibility of all markings to meet NOV and customer quality standards
Perform routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting on stencil and marking equipment
Maintain proper documentation and traceability of marked components
Follow all NOV HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE and handling of chemicals
Maintain a clean and organized work area in alignment with 5S standards
Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to meet production schedules and resolve discrepancies
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial painting, stenciling, or equipment operation preferred
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
Familiarity with oilfield equipment or heavy manufacturing environment is a plus
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate shop equipment
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods during shift
Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise stencil application
Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures (with appropriate PPE)
Work Environment:
Industrial manufacturing/shop environment
Exposure to paints, solvents, coatings, and heavy equipment
May require overtime, weekends, or shift work based on business needs
