Position Summary:
The National Guard Association of Arkansas is seeking an experienced Executive Director to serve as the senior administrative leader. This individual will provide continuity, guidance, and operational oversight, advising association leadership in fulfilling their responsibilities and acting as a key liaison among leadership, members, and affiliated organizations
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Advisory Role
- Advise and assist association leadership and committees in executing their duties.
- Schedule meetings with key leaders on behalf of the Association.
- Provide institutional knowledge and mentorship across leadership transitions.
- Support the President and Executive Committee in achieving organizational goals.
2. Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations of the association.
- Manage headquarters operations and office services.
- Supervise and evaluate staff, conducting annual performance reviews.
3. Financial Oversight
- Prepare and submit an annual budget for approval.
- Monitor and manage expenditure according to board-approved budgets.
4. Membership and Records Management
- Maintain accurate records of membership dues and ensure timely remittance.
5. Program and Event Coordination
- Plan and coordinate participation in national programs and state conferences.
6. Liaison and External Relations
- Serve as a liaison with national organizations and collaborate with other membership organizations.
7. Legislative and Strategic Support
- Develop knowledge of legislative processes at the state and federal levels.
- Engage in advocacy efforts to influence legislation aligned with association priorities.
- Build relationships with legislators and stakeholders to represent the association interests.
- Track and analyze relevant legislation, providing updates to the board and membership.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify legislative priorities and develop advocacy strategies.
8. Corporate Partnerships and Development
- Recruit Corporate Partners:
- Develop and implement strategies to identify and recruit corporate partners to support the association and the Arkansas National Guard.
- Cultivate relationships with businesses and organizations to create sponsorship opportunities that align with association goals.
- Generate revenue through corporate partnerships and sponsorships, ensuring a minimum annual growth in partnership numbers.
- Support initiatives related to insurance and related programs through direct engagement with corporate representatives.
9. Reporting and Governance Support
- Prepare and present an annual report to the association membership.
- Support governance processes and board activities as required.
