National Grid’s Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we’ll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one – putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you’ll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

About the Position

Are you ready to jump into the world of reliability and compliance that keeps the electric system safe and secure? As an Associate Program Manager on the Reliability Compliance & Policy team, you will help ensure National Grid is compliant with NERC Reliability Standards, NPCC, and ISO requirements. You’ll support key regulatory requirements that keep the Bulk Electric System reliable and resilient. Plus, you’ll get great training, support, and mentorship as you kick off your career!

Our Reliability Compliance Program is a risk-based framework:

Communicates compliance information and requirements to affected entities, functions, and operations personnel

This role may require occasional in-office days for team collaboration, meetings, and trainings as needed. Your primary office for this position can be in Northboro, MA, Syracuse, NY, or Brooklyn, NY. Role requirements are subject to change based on business needs.

What You’ll Do

You’ll get hands-on experience working with different teams and projects, helping to keep our system compliant and running smoothly. Here’s what you’ll be up to:

Lead discussions with internal stakeholders to develop responses to regulatory information request

  • Prepare Incident Analysis (IA) reports, compliance assessments, and develop Internal Control

  • Support planning and development of audit deliverable

  • Engage with regulators, peer utilities, and industry organization

  • Support ad hoc initiatives for process improvement and development of the Reliability Compliance progra

What You’ll Need

Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Graduated between May 2025 and June 2026
  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on July 13, 202

  • Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver polic
  • y
  • Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

Salary Range
Northboro, MA $82,000 - $96,000 a year

Brooklyn, NY $87,000 - $102,000 a year

Syracuse, NY $72,000 - $85,000 a year


Please note US Colleagues must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont. As a National Grid employee, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
