What you'll do:
As a Senior Applications Developer, you'll support NFA's applications projects by demonstrating technical leadership in the design of new systems and maintenance of existing systems with a focus on complex financial systems. Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Design and maintain applications that process, analyze, and store large volumes of market data, ensuring accuracy and data integrity
- Apply a strong understanding of financial market products (examples include futures, options, swaps, clearing, margining, and trade reporting) to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Prototyping and implementing designs in keeping with NFA software development lifecycle practices.
- Enhance and optimize alerting to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Support ongoing changes and initiatives to ensure applications and surveillance tools evolve with the regulatory landscape.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, technical standards, and best practices across the application development lifecycle
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership and training on complex initiatives and enhancements

- Extensive experience developing applications in a regulated or data intensive environment with a focus on complex financial systems.
- Experience supporting financial, regulatory organizations, exchanges, or financial institutions strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with trade surveillance concepts such as spoofing, layering, manipulation preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
- Experience with Visual Studio, Microsoft Access, Entity Framework, Azure DevOps, XML, API and Azure Cloud Computing experience helpful. Additional technologies used may include Dapper, Blazor, and REACT.
- Skilled in SDLC, system testing, production support, and change management.
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with non-technical regulatory stakeholders and translate business needs into technical designs.
Salary range: $103,925 to $176,000
